Ownership

Headquartered in Milan, the public company has been a subsidiary of the French luxury group, Kering, since 2001. Over the years, Kering has acquired many luxury fashion brands like Balenciaga, Brioni, DoDo, and Yves Saint Laurent. Kering is led by its chairman and Chief Executive Officer François-Henri Pinault.

History

After its establishment in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro (who later left the company), the company instantly hit the fashion scene with its intrecciato designs. Bottega experienced decrease in popularity when it adopted trend-driven designs in the highly competitive 1990s. In 2001, the brand regained some traction after it was sold to the Gucci Group.
