Valentino is an Italian luxury fashion house headquartered in Milan. Their creations are the epitome of Italian heritage, with timeless designs and craftsmanship that is loved by many. Creative Director Paolo Piccioli oversees Valentino’s designs. Valentino has designed wedding dresses for many dignitaries and European royals, including Princess Madeleine of Sweden.
Valentino now belongs to Quatari aristocrats who bought it via Mayhoola for Investments S.P.C., which is also a Qatari investment company headquartered in Doha, Qatar. Mayhoola for Investments acquired the Valentino fashion brand in 2012, and has helped its investors buy several fashion houses over the years, including Balmain and Pal Zileri fashion brands.
Valentino was established in 1960 by Valentino Garavani. The company first gained attention when Elizabeth Taylor bought its white dress for the premiere of a movie from the brand. Valentino introduced its ‘V’ symbol through its all-white collection in 1968.The brand released its first range of fragrances in 1978, and has changed hands several times since 1998.
